App Designs:

Snapchat

Camera  based therefore there is not many functions on screen – access filters using touch screen.

Instagram

Camera based- simple features e.g. home, search, profile. The pictures take up the majority of the screen instead of using large amounts of text. Simple icons along the bottom of the screen.

Samsung Gear Fit tracker

Tracks fitness, uses colour themes to suit the function e.g. green is for activity, purple is for sleep and orange is for measuring. The use of colour stimulates the brain in different ways e.g. purple soothes the brain where as green stimulates health and energy. The grid is useful as it shows all the functions at once and shows what areas you need to work on indicated by the colours. Each function on the grid can be clicked on to show a more in-depth measurement.Image result for samsung gear fit tracker app

Spotify

The mobile interface uses a black background to make the functions stand out and make them easy to read. The headings are in white to compliment the black, and the play button is green to attract  the user in order to play the song. The menu screen displays multiple albums and songs at once in order for the user to find their destined artist.

Cut the rope

This game involves the user getting the candy to the alien, cutting the rope in the process. The game uses a swiping motion so there is hardly any icons on the screen when playing. Having a target audience of children, the alien makes motions and sounds as if it is a real alien to attract the younger audience.
